You Were Not Expecting Cartier to Cover This in Gold
Cartier is nothing if not short on gold, but the luxe look had always been reserved for jewelry and watches—until now. In preparation for the opening of the brand's Precious Garage (a concept designed by artist Desi Santiago at its 5th Avenue Mansion), a regular, humdrum shipping container was coated in high-shine gold.
First appearing outside during the installation's unveiling—AKA a party to kick off New York Fashion Week—the golden container is hitting the road as part of a traveling pop-up experience with special stops in Nashville and Seattle (on September 14 to 16 and 28 to 30, respectively). The Santiago-designed concept will remain in NYC at the Fifth Avenue Mansion through September 26.
