Whenever I Wear This $10 T-Shirt Someone Compliments Me
As the resident fashion editor amongst my friends and family, I'm often asked where to get really great basics. Bras that aren't too expensive, versatile black ankle boots, sneakers that are comfortable but not ugly—that sort of thing. I'm also often asked who makes the best white T-shirt in the game. For years, I've said The Gap. Then I fell in love with the ones from Mott & Bow. But as of two weeks ago I believe I've found the holy grail.
While on a trip in Tokyo, I visited the Uniqlo flagship store. With more than 10 floors of men's, women's and kid's clothing one would think a white-T shirt would drown in the sheer magnitude of stuff, but thanks to its thick material and perfect crew neck it really stood out. It's structured, but not stiff, which indicates lasting power. I instantly grabbed four. Plus a few in navy and one in pink. At less than $10, yes the shirts are cheap, but they aren't cheaply made.

"It looks so substantial!" "Love that shape." The compliments flood in! And all for a white T-shirt. So don't be surprised if you only see me wearing this shirt moving forward. I don't want to say I'll never try another one again, but with the peak lazy days of August on the horizon, no promises!
