But when the Duchess of Sussex stepped out today to attend the 100th anniversary of the Royal Air Force, she wore a classic "new look"-style Dior dress that calls to mind another iconic style muse that may have nabbed the top spot on Markle's fashion vision board: Audrey Hepburn.

Markle slipped into a black bespoke dress by Dior, boasting a bateau neckline and flared skirt, reminiscent of the black Givenchy dress Audrey Hepburn wore in her 1954 film Sabrina. Like Markle's LBD, the black cocktail dress Hepburn wore in Sabrina featured a fitted top, belted waistline, and flared midi skirt.

Given Hepburn's ties to the luxury fashion house and the Givenchy dress Markle walked down the aisle in for her royal wedding—or the My Fair Lady-esque fascinator Markle wore for her Royal Ascot debut in June—Hepburn seems to fit the bill as Markle's latest style muse.

For her royal events, Markle often reaches for dresses with a boatneck design, a style Hepburn was known for wearing, like the olive Ralph Lauren dressed she wore for Prince Louis' christening or when she attended Your Commonwealth Youth Challenge event last week in a bright yellow Brandon Maxwell dress.
