Now, J. Crew has decided to take things a step further and enlisted the help of plus-size fashion label Universal Standard to launch a new collection. The J. Crew x Universal Standard range marries J. Crew's classic all-American aesthetic—stripes, khaki, effortless wardrobe staples—with Universal Standard's size-inclusive designs for a capsule collection of tops, dresses, skirts and pants that are offered in sizes from XXS to 5X.

"We wanted to work with experts in the field on this collection to kick off a much larger roll out of extended sizes, new fits and fabrications across the brand," Lisa Greenwald, chief merchandising officer of J.Crew, told Glamour. "We recognized Universal Standard's highly technical approach and reached out to them to help create a new collection tailored for the real, diverse spectrum of the American woman."
