I Bought This $75 Banana Republic Dress in a Heatwave-Induced Panic and Have No Regrets
I'm sitting in my apartment with a weekend full of events to attend, but it's hot AF and I have nothing to wear. And not in the "Oh, my closet is full of things but still have nothing," sort of way. No. I mean, the "Wow, it's 95 degrees for next week, I forgot to refill my closet after a massive spring cleaning purge, and yikes, I'm kind of screwed," sort of way. First stop: Banana Republic. Seduced by an adorable jumpsuit in the window (plus a 50 perfect off sign) I popped in to see what the store had to offer. And there it was: A simple button front dress that—to be honest—had little hanger appeal, but looked banging when I put it on! Deceptively chic.

So chic, in fact, that I bought it in khaki and navy (and wore the navy one a few hours later). With a bunch of BBQs and birthday parties on the horizon I figured I'd treat myself to the nice two-for-one deal. Plus, after having tugged at my denim mini skirt one too many times, I've realized just how necessary a mid-calf length is in this weather. No more riding, no more thighs sticking to restaurant seats. Just pure comfort.
