Every Single Beauty Product the Models Are Wearing at the 2018 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show
You'd be forgiven if you've ever YouTubed a tutorial on how to achieve the flawless, radiant makeup looks and glossy hair we see across our television screens when the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show rolls around each year. While the coveted (and amazingly expensive) diamond-embellished bra is the highlight of the show, the voluminous, tousled beach waves and fresh, bronzy makeup is what really sets the tone for the night.
The Makeup
It takes time to transform into a bombshell Victoria's Secret angel, and a quick stroll backstage at Victoria's Secret's annual extravaganza proves exactly why, especially if you're Charlotte Tilbury, who was tasked giving 60 models a radiant, camera-ready glow. For this year's look, Tilbury looked to an OG Victoria's Secret Angel, Gisele Bundchen, as inspiration, recreating Bundchen's signature "healthy, happy, naturally flawless beauty look."
"She embodies that signature fresh, glowing angel gorgeousness," Tilbury says. "I also wanted the makeup [to] channel that Victoria’s Secret feeling! Victoria’s Secret is all about pure fun, joy and abandon! It is a world of confidence, glamour, sexiness, power and magic that we all sail off to for the night! Whether you are watching it at home, or front row - everyone gets lost in the hypnotizing allure of the angels."
To impart a healthy glow, Tilbury started off by using her Instant Magic Dry Sheet Facial Mask, Charlotte’s Magic Cream, and Magic Eye Rescue to create a smooth, clean canvas. From there, she primed the skin with her WonderGlow primer before swiping a shade "slightly warmer" than the model's complexion for added radiance. After concealing with the Magic Away Concealer, Tilbury applied the Hollywood Flawless Filter to give models an IRL "blur."
No look is complete without a sculpted face, so Tilbury went in with her Filmstar Bronze & Glow palette to contour and highlight, with a touch of the illuminating Beauty Light Wand. The bronzy look was amplified by metallic rose gold eyeshadow and a chocolate brown eyeliner for the eyes, and soft, dewy pink lip using Victoria’s Secret's Velvet Matte Cream in Showstopper on the lips.
The Hair
With all the glowy, picture-perfect faces strutting down the runway, celebrity hairstylist Anthony Turner wanted to keep the hair as natural as possible. "We’re celebrating individuality—we don’t want the girls to look like a generic army of robots. We’re celebrating each girl for who she is," Turner said. To give models "a little more downtown and real" look, Turner prepped damp hair with a volumizing mousse and a serum oil before blow-drying the hair with the InfinitiPro by Conair 3Q Electronic Brushless Motor Hair Dryer.
"We’re not using any brushes—we’re just tossing around the hair with our hands as we blow dry it to help the hair look somewhat separated, which emphasizes the natural look we want to achieve," he adds. Instead of using a curling wand, Turner reached for the Infiniti PRO by Conair 2-in-1 Black Titanium Styler to drop in curls half-way down the hair, leaving the roots flat and smooth. Turner finished up by using the Conair Styling Essentials Wide Tooth Comb to add volume.
The Finishing Touch
Before strutting the runway, every Angel got into character with a spritz of the new Victoria's Secret Love Star fragrance. Its smells like a mixture of rosegold apple, white lily, and dark rum—in other words, delicious.
