Christian Louboutin Is Launching the Fanciest Cream Eyeshadow You've Ever Seen
Christian Louboutin—the name synonymous with glamour, regality, and that iconic red-lacquered sole—can now do for your eyes what its high heels do for your legs. A quick lift of the eye comes in the form of the French fashion house's new Tape à l’Oeil Eye Colour collection: creamy shadows nestled into dreamy, stiletto-shaped wands.
The line includes six original matte, neutral shades designed to create a lit-from-within halo around the eye—opposite six new metallic shades. The pigment-rich formula (hues include rose gold, bronze brown, rich wine, and iridescent blue) is oil-based but dries to a powdery, matte sheen that refuses to smudge or smear. Apply shadow directly using the wand, dip a brush into the pomade, or use the tip of your finger to dab pigment onto your lids.
"Tape à l’oeil means eye-catching," explains designer Christian Louboutin in a press release. "It is a woman who exposes her femininity so that no one can miss her." The Tape à l’oeil collection joins the ranks of the brand's Brow Definer pencil,Oeil Vinyle liquid liner, and Les Yeux Noirs mascara. "I’ve always been fascinated with how much the eyes say," he continued. "Eyes reveal—they have a life; they carry one’s life; what has happened in your life. It is through the eyes that you see someone’s personality."
The Tape à l’oeil collection, retailing for $50 per wand, launches September 15 on Saks.com and in stores on October 1.
