Benefit Is Turning the Clickpen of Your Childhood Into a Genius Brow Product

The beauty world loves itself some nostalgic beauty products, and the latest launch from Benefit Cosmetics will definitely bring you back to middle school. Remember click pens? Equipped with not only one, but four (or if you're really a Cool Kid, ten) ink colors, the pens were both practical and a fun toy to have in class. Benefit's version is meant to be used on your brows, and it may be their most genius invention yet.

Brow Contour Pro ($34), available August 7 in five colorways, looks and feels like the clickpens of your youth. Instead of ink, however, it has four crayon products in one: a lighter shade, deeper shade, highlighter, and definer. Most makeup enthusiasts know that to have a really good brow day, you need to "carve" out or contour your brows using concealer to define them. This multitasker is meant to make that technique easier and quicker than ever.

First thing's first: the size and shape of the pen feels great, so it's easy to maneuver and be precise. I used the lighter shade to fill in my brows from the start to the arch, then used the deeper brow shade from the arch to the tail. A little goes a long way with this pigment—it's meant to set for up to 24 hours—so instead of filling in every part of the arch, I used just a little and brushed it out with a separate spoolie to look natural. I then used the definer shade, which is close to my skin tone, to sharpen up the brow's edges (think of it like an "eraser"). I finished with the highlighter shade on the brow bone.

Voila, defined brows!

I know it sounds like a lot of steps, but with a little practice Brow Contour Pro makes it so easy even amateurs could master it. I personally find defining my brows with concealer a cumbersome process, but this pen makes it easier and gives me the thick, arched but natural-looking brows I always struggled to achieve.
