All of the Profits From This Liquid Lipstick Help Reunite Migrant Families

In the wake of Trump's zero tolerance policy against migrant families, the U.S. government reported Friday that nearly 2,000 migrant children—who are reportedly being held in cages at government facilities—were separated from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border between April 19 and May 31 of this year. Citizens, celebrities, and First Ladies alike have all spoken out in condemnation of the cruel practice, and now the beauty industry, too is biting back.

Lipslut was founded in 2017 as a way of fighting the patriarchy through beauty. The brand's first matte liquid lipstick shades included "F*ck Trump" (a pinky nude), and "F*ck Hollywood," (a bold, red-carpet red) at the heels of the Time's Up movement. From the beginning, 50 percent of the profits from the $20 F*ck Trump shade go towards the buyer's choice of a civil rights organization the Trump administration has targeted, like the American Civil Liberties Union or the Human Rights Campaign.

And after raising more than $40,000 for the victims of the Charlottesville attacks in August 2017, Lipslut is back with another especially charitable campaign.

From now until July 19, Lipslut will donate 100 percent of its profits from its F*ck Trump matte liquid lipstick to charities that support families who have been separated at the border (including the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services, Las Americas Immigrant Advocacy Center, and Young Center for Immigrant Children's Rights).

Lipslut was founded by Katie Stones on the day of Trump's inauguration. "I was literally watching Trump's inauguration and decided I had to take action," Stones reported to Popsugar. "I created Lipslut after recognizing my passion for cosmetics could be used as a vehicle to inspire social activism. It's meant to be a middle finger to the current socio-political landscape."
