25 Ideas Perfect For Your Date Night Jar
Date nights are great in theory, but once you've been with your partner for a significant period of time, coming up with different ways to keep things fun can be a little hard. While the idea of a date night jar might not sound exhilarating, it's actually been the best way my husband and I ensure we still get alone time and try new things while we're at it. And the best part about having a jar is you can customize it to fit your and your partner's needs, as many times as you want.
Once you have a standard mason jar and a package of popsicle sticks (or just a bunch of pieces of scrap paper), both of you write a handful of date night ideas that you want to do and add them to the jar. You can also color-code them, using one color for at-home dates, another for adventurous dates, etc. When your next date night comes around, just pull a stick from the jar and do whatever it tells you to do. Not only is this a great way to experience things your partner enjoys, but having the jar visible in your home will definitely inspire you to do more things together. Keep reading for 25 ideas that are perfect for your date night jar.

Have dinner at home, but head out for some dessert (or just have dessert for dinner!). Either way, you can't go wrong when it comes to sweets.
Pack an overnight bag and head to the airport. Purchase tickets for the cheapest, soonest departing flight and spend the night wherever you land.
Head to a local bar or restaurant and strike up a conversation with another couple. You may end up with lifelong friends!
Whether you head to a local nightclub or crank up the music in your own kitchen, dance like no one is watching. Or raise the stakes and challenge your partner to a dance off. It'll make both of you feel like teenagers again.
Head into your nearest city and do the most touristy thing(s) you can find. Don't forget to buy a tacky souvenir to help commemorate the date!
Relive the early days of your relationship when you couldn't keep your hands (or lips) off of each other.
Take a trip to your local bookstore (or library) and find the following: a book you think should be on your partner's reading list (be prepared to explain why), a travel guide for a place you think they'd like to visit, a recipe you think they would enjoy, and a poem or short story that reminds you of them.
Remember when you were a kid and you'd vow to watch the sunset outside or stay awake all night to watch the sunrise? Yeah, do that again.
Is there anything more romantic than a permanent symbol of your love? Just make sure you're both on the same page when it comes to what you want inked!

See who can create the best (or worst) likeness. Unless one of you is talented artist, this one will probably make you laugh until your stomachs hurt.
See if you can find any constellations. If not, make up your own.
Play a game of Never Have I Ever or 20 Questions. Even if you've been together for a while, you'll still probably learn something new about your partner.
Choose your dream destination and pretend it's really happening. Research hotels, restaurants, things to do, and the best places for photo ops. Then when that day finally comes, you'll be ready to go.
Each of you prepare a recipe using only ingredients you have in your home. It can be as simple as a smoothie or as complicated as a five-course meal.
Work together on a good old-fashioned puzzle. Once you get started, you'll both get so addicted to finishing it!
If you don't already own one, purchase a pair of naughty dice. Chances are you'll be pleasantly surprised with where the night takes you.
Take it out of the bedroom and have some fun!
Whether it's a home improvement project or a craft you've been dying to do, break out the materials and put your skills to the test.
Head to the spa for a couple's massage. If you'd prefer to stay home, light some candles, put on some relaxing music, and pamper one another.
Pick a new show to binge together. It's always a great way to bond and an excuse to cozy up together at the end of every day.
Sign up for a new and different workout class together. Being together will offer a fun challenge to keep up and be competitive (in a good way).
Pretend you're Ferris Bueller and play hooky from work for a day. Go on a grand adventure or spend the entire day in bed. Whatever you decide, enjoy being together.
